About the JCK Tucson Event

jck-tucson-2016For the 3rd straight year, JCK Magazine hosted a jewelry industry event at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa in Tucson, Arizona. JCK is a trusted partner connecting jewelry retailers and manufacturers/suppliers with trends, news, products, education, and partners to build business. The annual event is meant to build relationships between all the different players in the jewelry landscape and give jewelers a chance to show off their latest collections. I had the chance to meet and speak with dozens of respected and trusted people in the industry and am already looking forward to the event next year.

Graziela Gems was there!

For more than 20 years now, I’ve been designing jewelry. My grandfather was a jeweler and I learned a lot from him. Every year I look forward to going to Tucson for this event. It gives me a chance to personally shop for the highest quality gems, diamonds and metals which I then use to design the jewelry on my website. I take pride in the quality of my products so for me this is the most important part of the jewelry-designing process.

Below is a picture of me looking at one of the rarest and most beautiful gems, Paraiba Tourmaline. It is found in my native country,Brazil, and if you haven’t seen the video of me working with Brazilian miners to naturally extract this beautiful stone, watch it here. This gem is near and dear to my heart and I had an amazing time designing my popular Paraiba Obsession Collection. I also got a chance to show off new pieces I’ve designed for my Baguette Collection and Ascension Collection.

Popular Gems at the Event This Year

There were so many amazing gems featured at this event but the most popular was Opal and the Pastel gemstones. The Opal gemstone is unique as it can take on many colors due to the water absorbed. The colors range from white, gray, red, orange, yellow, green and more depending on the conditions of where it is cultivated. Pastels include gemstones like lavender amethyst, morganite and Paraiba tourmaline and it was truly amazing to look at these gems first hand. Seeing all of these beautiful gems really gave me some ideas for jewelry I want to design in 2016!

The Next Event

This year was so much fun and we can’t wait for next year’s event hosted in Tucson February 1-5, 2017. If you want to read more about what went on at this years event, here is the press release. Until next year!
